Comments From Dylan Degree:
Below is some information and updates from Christal Nase in regards to the Ski/ride program. I let her know to forward the monies and invoice to Dave Lane. We will need to chat about the Gas card’s and see if we can do this.

Ok, here are some numbers/info…let me know if there is anything specific to pass on that might be helpful for tonight.

– 3 dates scheduled: 1/19, 2/1, 3/8
– 45 students are registered to participate
– approx 24 parents are signed up to drive and/or chaperone
– 2 students requested scholarships, totaling $252
– full payment has been received from all other (43) participants
– I will turn over all payments to Linda Burger (?) soon (after our first day)
– Smuggs will send us an invoice for the entire amount of our season (3 dates) after our last day. This amount should match the total of all payments received from families plus the 2 scholarships.
– I will forward that invoice to Linda once I receive it and she can pay it directly.

Thoughts:

– I need to be on my way out next year. I will teach someone how to do it and be available to assist but I am very much hoping someone else will be the coordinator of this program next year.
– I would LOVE to be able to give gas cards to a few drivers who are stepping up to bring quite a few kids to the mountain aside from their own – if that’s an option.
– Revamping the paperwork/going digital would be ideal.

1) I have been chatting with a woman about swimming lessons. She does the lessons for North Hero. She is on board and just need to work out the details. Solid possibility for this year.
2) I did a walk with Steve Robinson on the Robinson trail and he is good to go with us hosting a snowshoe on the trail. We need to pick and date and hope for more snow.
3) Christal Nase asked if we could purchase some gas cards for the adults who have been driving kids to smuggs for the ski/ride program as a thank you. I will get a solid number of people.

Comment from David Hobbs:
I would like to suggest another role for a Recreation Director: to be added to the Town Plan:
“Manage and direct the Highway Dept or private contractor(s) in maintenance of 1. the Roy Marsh Trail ( gravel based Rail Trail ) as well as 2. the Town Recreation Park Trails adjacent to Folsom School in order to enable safe and comfortable public access”
