b) Ad Hoc Group, INCLUDING PTO, is strongly supportive of walkable / bikeable / triple-purpose ( bike, walk, handicap mobile ) access to and around planned new Community Park and transportation to and from school

February 10th, 6:30pm, Town Offices and Zoom
In attendance: David Hobbs, Guy Maguire, Erin Morse, Linda Burger, Marion Palmero, Susan Ryan, Peter O’Malley, Bridget Kerr
A. Selection of “minutes taker” – Linda nominated Erin, all in favor..
A. Conversation about having a subcommittee for safe routes to school. Agreed this should be its own
subcommittee.
B. Review last Minutes – 12/16/22:

D. Update on proposed “Robinson Farm Trail”.
A. “Name that trail” contest? Dave made a suggestion for children to have a contest to name the trail.
Guy suggested this be reviewed with the landowners to see what they have for input. Dave will talk
to the Principal at Folsom about the naming contest.
B. Upcoming trail walks
C. Next steps — see last minutes. Guy reviewed the meeting that was held with the landowners. Guy
will contact Martha about how to proceed with the planning commission. Map can be found here:

E. South Hero Walkability/Bikeability
A. Agreed this group should be a citizens group, not a formal group. Dave will talk to the Principal at
Folsom and Jonathan at Local Motion. He will also create a blurb to gain some interest in this
committee.

safety and healthy physical activity

4) Brief review of “Community Trails Project” or “trails case statement” document and “Hosting Public Trails on your Property” and “developing new trails in South Hero which are attached below
All those on this mailing list should have received a copy of “hosting trails…” from Guy (10/5/21)

a) Concept of “shared use paths”
b) Transportation Trails: Subcommittee thoughts / ideas regarding walkable / bikeable triple-purpose ( bike, walk, handicap mobile ) access to and around planned new Community Park (–behind “Blue Paddle”; not Lavin property–) might include separate trail along north edge of Rt 2 for access.
