South Hero property taxes are due by April 30 (unless voted on as an earlier date).
Property owners have two options to pay:
- Pay in full by the September due date and receive a 3% discount
- Pay in three installments due last Thursday in Sept. , Jan. , and April.
Any outstanding balance after April 30 will incur an 8% delinquent penalty fee and a 1% interest fee per month on any unpaid balance.
This payment schedule is voted on each year by the community at Town Meeting.
As voted on March 1, 2022 and approved:
(A) SHALL THE TOWN OF SOUTH HERO VOTE TO PAY ITS REAL ESTATE TAXES TO THE TOWN TREASURER IN INSTALLMENTS WITH DUE DATES BEING SEPTEMBER 30, 2022, JANUARY 31, 2023, APRIL 27, 2023?
(B)SHALL THE TOWN OF SOUTH HERO SET A RATE OF DISCOUNT OF 3% AND A DATE OF DISCOUNT OF SEPTEMBER 30, 2022
