Meeting House – Preserve & Revitalize Project

1. Called to order at 3:30 PM by David C.
2. Changes to the Agenda: Added Vermont Heavy Timber Invoice to approve under “New Business”.
3. Public Comments : None
4. Town Financial Report: Kim Julow – Town Treasurer
Available balance $290,821.09 (Includes SHF $105,000 grant + Town Line of Credit balance)
5. Old Business:
• Updates
• David C. reported the sidewalk along RT 2 is completed where the new Community Park entrance is located. The Building has landed back on her new foundation! There was much public interest reflected on the SHF Instagram & FaceBook accounts. Next task is electric installation which requires the Town to trench for an underground hook-up. Arrangements will go through John Beaulac.
• Funding: Sue A. reported, and it was confirmed by the group, that the Bruhn Grant work is now 75% complete and, therefore, Sue will request the next payment through Jenna Lapachinski. Priority: Sue A. also alerted the group that the Town Attorney has not yet scheduled the closing for the Easement Required by the Norther Borders Grant. She and David will stay on this as a priority.

6. New Business:
• Motion by Sandy G. and second by Paula B. to approve for payment by the Town of South Hero: Vermont Heavy Timber Invoice #002, period to 8/31/26 in the amount of $258,824. Vote was unanimous. Sandy will pass approved invoice on to Kim J. for SB approval at their Sept 28,2026 regular meeting and subsequent payment.
• Sept 28,2026 SB meeting: request the SB approve this group to look into the Annex addition to the Meeting House.
7. Next Meeting: Thursday, Oct 1, 2026 at 3:30 PM at the Worthen Library or by ZOOM.
