Meeting House – Preserve & Revitalize Project

Recording started
1. Called to order at 3:00 by David C.. David stated we are all missing Michael Carroll and his
expertise and supportive presence. We so appreciate Pamela Surprenant being here today.
2. Bruhn Grant Status Update – Jenna L., Preservation Trust VT Reported there is no change and
that is good. Jenna will be providing a draft grant application for the current round of grants from VT
Housing & Conservation Board. The deadline for this grant is Sept 30,2025. The Town is the
Applicant. Letters of support from the following would be helpful: South Hero Foundation (Sandy G.
to draft), Andy Julow-LCIEDC, VCD, any potential users of the space in the Community Room such
as Historical Society & Museum, Champlain Islands Farmers’ Market (Mary H. compose letter and
get it to David C. so he can forward to Aprille Soons. Jenna L. will email sample letters to Mary.
3. Town Financial Report: No Report (assuming same as last meeting $223,073.31 (includes
designated ARPA funds & voter’s  $150,000).
4. Architect’s Report: Opening Bids postponed to Sept 4,2025 at 3:00 PM due to request for
extension. Sample Bid Tab Sheet handed out to members. Note: at the bid opening meeting
after the bids are read by Rebecca Arnold-Architect, there will be an Executive Session for discussion
about the bids. After the Executive Session a public announcement will be made if any action has
been taken by the Committee.

5. Old Business: Wrap-up of community event Paint-A-Panel
All the panels have been either paint or are out for completion. Fun time and amazing variety of
themes. $520 raised.
6. New Business: A brief discussion about the interface between the proposed new Town Park and
the Meeting House covered; parking, lighting, green space, pathways, timing of projects. The DRB
has approved the Park site plan.
7. Next Meeting: Opening Bids: Thurs, Sept 4,2025, 3:00 PM ,Town Office or via ZOOM
