Emergency Meeting of Monday August 2, 2024 at 4:00 PM
At South Hero Town Hall
Board Members Present: David Carter/Chairman, David Lane/Vice Chairman, Skip Brown/Board Secretary, and Anne Zolotas
Others Present: Town Personnel: Kim Julow/Treasurer.
1. Called to Order:
– The meeting was called to order by Chairman David carter at 4:00 pm.
2. Business:
A. Treasurer Kim Julow advised the Board that the State changed the homestead education tax rate on Thursday August 1, from $2.2212 to $2.2132. Note that the non homestead rate did not change. This will make the total homestead tax rate $2.7421 rather than $2.7501. Skip Brown made a motion to accept the State homestead education rate of 2.2132 and the total homestead tax rate $2.7421. The motion was seconded, all in attendance so voted and the motion carried.
-The tax bills were already printed. New tax bills will now have to be ordered and printed. This will cause more time and expense to the Town. David Carter made a motion to pursue billing the State for reimbursement in order to recoup the extra expenses. The motion was seconded, all in attendance so voted and the motion carried.

-David Lane made a motion to adjourn at 4:07 pm. The motion was seconded, all in attendance so voted and the motion carried.
