5. New Business:
.
A. The Old White Meeting House Committee received 2 bids in the past 2 weeks. After reviewing both, one from Millbrook and one from Vermont Heavy Timbers, the Committee recommended that the selectboard go with Vermont Heavy Timbers. Sandy Gregg went through a worksheet she had prepared breaking down the funds that were being received on the project(please see attached) as well as speaking about how the committee got to their conclusion. Heavy Timbers has an excellent reputation and experience when it comes to historical buildings. They were the company helping with the Notre Dame Cathedral in France. Mary Harwood also reached out to someone that they worked with in Ferrisburgh and that person spoke highly about how Miles Jennes, from VT Heavy Timbers, she said he goes the extra mile with customers and appreciates preserving historical buildings. Although Dave Pratt from Millbrook did a great job building our new Salt Shed, he was unable to furnish the committee with references on jobs relating to historical preservation. After a discussion explaining the committee’s dual diligence the Selectboard was able to ask questions and shortly after, Anne Zolotas made a motion to accept the committee’s recommendation to hire VT Heavy Timbers to do the renovation work on the Old White House Building and David Lane seconded that motion. Motion carried.
10. Adjournment:
-Steve Robinson made a motion to adjourn at 7:30pm. The motion was seconded, all in attendance so voted and the motion carried.
Respectfully submitted, Approved by,
