Treasurer’s report for YTD 25/26 budget Jessica, (not present)
Whites – Town Beach parking passes. Rosemary will notify Naomi that the number of non resident passes for Whites Beach be increased from 75 to 80 for $65 each. The resident passes will remain at $5 with two passes per household.
New Town Park Summary for posting to Town Website – Nate will get back to Phil with the design and overlay of the town park superimposed with proposed housing development. The White Meeting house will be lifted so a new foundation can be built. It will be replaced at the same location.
Rec Commission Key Activities and Business Calendar: Phil will send us the link to the Google Drive event calendar.
New town park naming suggestion: Phil reported that David Carter approved submitting a survey to the town for choosing the name of the park. Current suggestions: The Village Green, South Hero Village Green, South Hero Village Park.
Whites Beach: Guy shared a screen with the project
to replace trees, prevent erosion and improve access to the beach. Funding received for creating the plan. Final design by April 30. The beach might be closed for a week in October when water level is low.
Work on the Island Acres trail connector will start this summer. Two possible routes, wheelchair accessible. Joint project with town and SHLT. Looking for help with brush hogging, etc. Guy will ask Nate Hayward and Bob Krebs if they can help. Rosemary will ask Steve Hard.
Items for next meeting
Pergola for beach: Carol, potentially good use of the 1% local tax $. More research will be done by Carol. A proposal is required to receive funding.
b. Marble Run Project. Lucy will begin research on design and cost.
