Lavin Property Vision Project
What is the Lavin Property Vision Project? The community has an extraordinary opportunity with the 100% grant funded acquisition of the Lavin property in 2025. The Lavin property constitutes 96 acres in the center of South Hero village. A portion of the property will be used for a community wastewater system, which is currently being designed (see Wastewater Committee page). The purpose of this project is to define a vision and guiding priorities for how this land can be used to benefit the public good and further the vision and goals of the town plan in addition to being used for community wastewater. The project will also seek to align potential development with state resources and programs, for example the new Community Housing and Infrastructure Program (CHIP). The project is being funded by a Municipal Planning Grant. The budget is for a $13,716 grant with $1,524 in local cash match for a total project cost of $15,240.
