Call to Order, 7:05
Roll Call: Members Present : Dylan Degree, Jessica Jackson, Philip Scott, Marion Palermo, Sue Arquin, Rosemary Zamore. Guests: David Carter, Guy Maquire, Tom Martin, Ann Zolotas, Julie Pidgeon
Approval of minutes from last meeting. Approved
Treasurer’s Report. Ski program funds will have to come out of next year’s budget.
General Business:
Triathlon: Tom Martin offered to organize. August 16, 9:30-10:30. Rosemary will volunteer. $300 in budget. Tom will order t-shirts. Ways to advertise- flyers around town, Rosemary will contact Al Getler to help with advertising. Kids from other towns are invited. Waiver for parking- Sue will ask for the parking attendant to start at noon.
Swimming Lesson Vouchers for South Hero Residents for other Municipalities. Carol used forms from previous years.
Trails Update & town beach restoration. Guy Maguire: Busy summer of trail maintenance. Nora new coordinator. Roy Marsh trail work happening. Town beach planting shoreline bio-engineering project. Will reduce erosion. Possible to designate paths to water. Will apply for federal funding. Ann Z will facilitate funding.
Teen Volleyball Night for other Grand Isle Teens at White’s Beach. Dylan will 12 distribute Parking Pass Waivers to display on dashboards.
Pickleball Discussion. No funds. Could be integrated into the Town Park. Noise can be an issue and soundbarrier walls are a big expense. Lavin property could be a potential destination.
f. Dave Carter: 2% tax decrease. Local Option Tax goes into the general fund to be allocated by the selectboard. Any requests must be built into the budget.
Julie Pidgeon reiterated Dave Carter’s explanation that for every dollar spent by the school costs taxpayers $2. She requested help with financing playground repairs.
Ethics Training Update. SHRC members should send confirmation to Sue when completed.
Fall Soccer. Budgeted $2000. Coaches lined up and Cheddar up program will be used for sign up.
Selectboard Updates. None
J. Marble Run Idea will be presented by Lucy Lane at next meeting
6. Other Business: Ann: Will ask Mike Gove if pickleball courts in Folsom gym were set up as winter activity?
Selectboard will clarify recreation and building maintenance fund for Folsom.
