South Hero Recreation Commission Minutes, 8/18/26
Roll Call: Phil, Tricia, Lucy, Celia, Marion, Rosemary, Dylan,
Approval of minutes
Budget: Tricia will send the updated budget spreadsheet to Commission members, and create a standard reimbursement form.
Whites Beach, Vermont Adaptive hasn’t gotten back to Lucy. Phil-handicapped access, wheelchair beachmats, next year’s budget. New grill is at town hall. John Bolac will install and remove the old one. New picnic table is handicapped accessible.
Reimbursement form for swim lessons- Swim lesson: Natalie Kendrach paid with Venmo and submitted a request for $80. Get receipt and certification from swim instructor, Marlo Newman.
Fall Soccer- Dylan- 104 kids registered, coaches lined up, shirt order in place, $2000 in budget, Pinneys may be needed. Starts September 12, ends 21 October. Pop up Tent with sides needed. Could be used for soccer and track. We could split the cost with PTO. (Challenger Soccer program is separate, in summer. Kristin Bartle in charge)
Keeping Granny’s Attic open in the Red Building through October 2027. Let the selectboard know that is fine with us.
Items for next meeting: Whites Beach- Shoreline project, handicapped access, wheelchair beach mats. Island Acres. Lavin Property Visionary meeting update.
