September 14, 2022 DRB Minutes




Members Present: Tim Maxham (Chair); Doug Patterson (Vice-Chair); Liza Kilcoyne; Mike Welch; Gareth Hunt (via Zoom); Nate Hayward (via Zoom); Sherry Corbin (Alternate, via Zoom).

7:04 PM – Chair Tim Maxham called the meeting to order.


Changes to the Agenda

There were none.


Public Comment

There was none.


Continue Conditional Use/Site Plan Review for a Municipal Facility (Salt Shed) – Town of South Hero (23-05-HR012)

7:07PM – T. Maxham re-opened the hearing.  M. Taylor-Varney explained to the Board that complete information had not yet been provided by the Town to engineer Jay Buermann so he could complete the site plan, and it was requested that the hearing be recessed to September 28, 2022.  M. Welch moved to recess to September 28, 2020 at the 7PM meeting; L. Kilcoyne second.  All in favor. It will be the second hearing of the evening.

There was none.


Review of Minutes

  1. Welch moved to approve the minutes of August 24, 2022; G. Hunt second. All in favor.


Administrator’s Report

  1. There will be a ribbon cutting ceremony at Bayview Crossing on November 14, 2022 at 1:30PM. Cindy Reid of Cathedral Square has invited the DRB to hold a future meeting at Bayview Crossing, date to be determined.
  2. Martha Taylor-Varney will be meeting with Jay Buermann (engineer) and Greg Montgomery (project manager) for a final walk-through at Bayview Crossing at 1PM on September 20 prior to issuing a Certificate of Occupancy. DRB members are invited to attend.
  3. Martha attended a cannabis retail webinar on September 14, hosted by VLCT. There will be a recording and PowerPoint of the webinar made available a few days after the event.  Contact Martha for additional information.
  4. The next meeting will be September 28 at the Town Office at 7PM. There  will be 2 hearings – a setback waiver in the Shoreland District, and the continuation of the conditional use/site plan review for the Town salt shed.
